Achieve your dreams

What you like is what you become

What are the things you like to do?

The things you find yourself consistently doing.

Now times those things by 365 days of the year that you do them (give or take)

And multiply that by how many years you want to live.

Question- are you happy with the person you’ve become after all that multiplying?

You have to see it all first

He was in debt up to his eyeballs- so much so he didn’t know the exact number.

It suffocated him, worried him and provided an underlying dread that coloured his whole life.

One day when he’d had enough he pulled out every owing receipt, email, debt collection letter, bank statement and credit card bill.

He avoided it for so long because he imagined this moment would have confirmed that his life was now over.

The oposite happened.

He saw all his demons in broad day light, and better than that he had a single total amount he was now working toward.

$62,367

Seeing the true extent of the ‘damage’ freed him.

Your freedom is waiting for you in the thing you’re avoiding.

Go and take a look.

Success is showing up

and if you can also be prepared that’s a bonus.

And if you’re in a good mood that’ll help too.

Show up, be prepared and be positive.

PRetty simple really

You get what you see every day

They say you have to look at your goals everyday.

Why?

It’s so simple it seems silly. You actually just need to remember where you’re going.

Don’t get stressed by the how, just look and remember what you want.

You’d be surprised how easy it is to forget goals- and if you forget them you can also forget about ever attainting them

It’s amazing how just by seeing and remembering what you want helps the universe conspire for you to achieve it.

Hidden technology

More people should be using claude code, right?

It feels a bit like a well kept secret at the moment, wow you gonna use it everyone.

Chunking

I put together an Ikea couch today.

It made me feel a bit like a genius.

It looked really REALLY complex. But the instructions broke it down chunk by chunk.

When we do the first thing, then the next thing and then the thing after (without rushing ahead)

I think anything is possible.

Follow through

Information is available everywhere. This isn’t news.

It’s not difficult to choose an outcome and find thousands of resources from people who’ve already done it telling you exactly what to do and in what order.

AI has made this even easier.

I can upload a book to an AI and have a personalised chat to it as if it’s a living version of the book who can speak directly to my context.

We all know what to do.

The new value is implementation. What’s ultra rare now is putting the knowledge into action.

It’s not hard to know what to do… but it’s increasingly hard to do what you know.

You don’t need to know everything, (someone else has done that for you)…

…but if you can be one of the few people who can action the things you need in order to get your desired outcomes, there is no limit to the impact you’re able to make.

More time than you think

I have to remind myself most often of this…

Because believing the opposite can make it feel true.

You have more than enough time.

Act accordingly

(and don’t waste it)

Brushing your teeth

How do you follow through on what you set out to do?

I love those moments of inspiration. When something is suddenly clear, you know exactly what you want and what it’ll be like when you get there.

The tricky part is how to keep that alive.

And the answer has to lie in a system. I wish I could, but I can’t reply on inspiration every day- it requires too much thinking. We need to figure out how to translate that to the systematic actions that take place daily without our constant upkeep.

I don’t visualise the perfect healthy smile every day, yet I do brush my teeth twice a day.

It’s not because I’m a powerful productivity god, I just have a simple action I do each day (and you probably do too).

So the question isn’t how do we keep motivated.

It’s how to we harness that initial momentum, wisely pick the ‘tooth brushing’ equivalent action and merely do that daily.

Our capacity will grow over time and we inch closer without the constant mental load.

Magic and mechanics

There’s the magic and then there’s mechanics.

The magic is what we’re always trying to create. The thing that drew us in in the first place.

You want that ‘wow’ moment when the curtain comes up on the show you’re writing.

You want the flow of an electric classroom where students are fizzing and learning is bouncing in all directions.

You want that feeling of presence in the scene where the audience forgets they’re watching two actors.

This is the magic.

Then there’s the mechanics. There’s the hours of drafting, re-drafting and editing the play. There’s learning the editing software. There’s drilling the acting technique. It’s boring. Its laborious. It’s unforgiving.

But it’s necessary. You can’t have one without the other.

The trick, I think, is to keep the magic alive while you’re in the trenches.

Keep the vision alive of the curtain coming up when you’re reworking a scene for the 37th time.

If we can do that, we’ll get through the mechanics and one day (soon) you’ll get to pop the champagne.
