I went to an improv workshop today. I had so much fun and I was struck by the sheer joy generated in the room. The major focus was leaning into the fun of ‘yes and’ .
As actors we play action verbs in our work- after all it’s in our name; we are actors we do things. After today I realised the only verb we ever need is ‘play’.
After all, we play a character and we are in a play.
There is so much value and endless energy and creativity by leaning into play.
